1000km Running Challenge
Total Runs: 64
Total Distance: 285.4 km
This year, I'm challenging myself to run 1000km. It's not about hitting a massive target all at once, but about building consistency in my running habit.
I've done 100km in a month before. It wasn't hard but really meant saying "No" to myself whenever I said "I could always run tomorrow". I need to stick to the mentally of "I have to run now, who knows what will happen tomorrow"
I didn't run a lot at the end of '25, so I'm starting easy to ease into it:
- January: 50km
February:75kmMarch onwards:100km per month
This gives me a gentle start and some buffer room. I'll track my progress here and share updates as I go.
Mid Year Update
Well, it doesn't look great does it. July is the start of the 7th Month, so I should be at 500+ km... but I'm not. It's been up and down, as soon as I get going, I stop again. I did run a half marathon and training for that was good, but I'm yet to hit a 100km month (clearly).
So current plan is not to give up, it's still possible and if I finish the year on 876 or something like that, that's not too bad. I've got 6 months, if I hit 100km each in them, that takes close to 900... that's not too far from 1000, I might do it.
